November in Southern Minnesota

I woke up this morning to the first real snow of the season. About 2 inches on the ground with 3-4 more inches due today. It's a really pretty snow...very heavy and drippy on the trees. Not like the snow we'll get in January...the fine powdery stuff that tears at your face when the temps are in the teens. Today's snow is perfect for snowball fights and snowmen. And it's a good thing the elementary school where I work is out today for parent/teacher conferences. So instead of driving in this thick slushy stuff, I can enjoy it from inside my warm and cozy house while drinking a third cup of coffee...

I'm glad we missed the real cold, but it would have been nice to see a snowy Minnesota. That's a really nice picture.
