Minnesota State Fair!!

After being in Minnesota for 2 years, I finally made my way up the "The Cities" to the State Fair. Lots to see, lots of "things-on-a-stick" to eat, but by far the best part was the Weird Al concert. I've been a fan for years, and last saw Al in person in Tulsa with his "Running with Scissors" tour. As always, his concert was a wild mix of silliness, nostalgia, amazingly quick changes, and crowd sing-alongs.

We also did a history walk all around the fairgrounds, learning all kinds of interesting facts, including that Teddy Roosevelt gave his "speak softly but carry a big stick" speech at the grandstand.

We saw a second "Al" while at the fair...Al Franken, making his run for public office.

And of course we got more than our "fair" share of freebies, including pins, rulers, hats, paper fans, and writing implements! All in all, a great trip!
